How to find and use custom Hytale seeds
Learn how to find the seed of your Hytale world and use custom seeds. This complete guide covers everything from basic commands to advanced seed management.
How to Find Your Hytale World Seed
You need to be OP or have access to the files. If you are in a public Hytale server without permissions you will have to ask someone who has permissions to tell you what the seed is.
In-Game Commands:
/op self(to set yourself as op)/world config seed(to display the seed. Easy way to copy below)/whereami(shows location information)/tp YOURUSERNAME x y z(to go to specific coordinates)
Manual Method:
To manually find it, navigate to:
%appdata%\Hytale\UserData\Saves\WORLDNAME\universe\worlds\default\ Right click config.json and open in notepad, search for "seed"
Easy Way to Copy the Hytale Seed
If you want an easy way to copy the Hytale seed (or your coordinate position), here is a free mod on CurseForge:
World Seed Plugin
Drop this into the Mods folder of your world/server
%appdata%\Hytale\UserData\(you will need to exit to menu, right click world toggle the mod on, and load back in or restart server).
Available Commands:
/seed show- displays just the seed/seed copy- sends the seed to the chat to copy/seed pos- displays just your position/seed pos copy- sends the position to the chat to copy/seed rtp- teleport to random location (creative /gm c in case you land near enemy)

How to Use a Custom Hytale Seed
Method 1: Using the Download Button on BestHytaleSeeds
If it is a page on the BestHytaleSeeds site, there is a download button next to the seed number.
Extract the contents of the zip file to:
%appdata%\Hytale\UserData\SavesNote: you need to have only one folder named the world name if you click it and see a second world name folder you need to cut that out and paste it directly in the saves (it depends on how you extracted).
Method 2: Using the Hytale Seed Generator
There is also a free Hytale seed generator where you can paste found seed numbers and coordinates (or get a randomized one) to get a file fast:

Method 3: Manual Configuration
If you prefer to do it manually:
Make a world in the launcher with the settings you want. Navigate to:
%appdata%\Hytale\UserData\SavesCopy and paste the folder of the world you just created. Click into the worlds default folder.
%appdata%\Hytale\UserData\Saves\FOLDER YOU JUST COPIED\universe\worlds\default Here you will find the config.json.
You can right click and edit with Notepad.
Edit the DisplayName (keep the quotes!) this will be what is shown in the launcher.
Edit the seed number (64 bit number is max, negative numbers are allowed). Save the file.
You need to reload the world menu, so either relaunch Hytale or just go to another menu and then click worlds again. You will see the new name you gave it.
If you want to teleport to a specific coordinate you saw (need op):
/op self(to set yourself as op)/tp YOURUSERNAME x y z
